Talk about adventuring... sounds like fun though.

Sigh, I have lots of studying to do. Laziness hath made me behind, and I don't really want to be behind anymore.

Been getting a 100% complete set of roms for MAME, courtesy mame.dk, an amazing resource which has allowed me to get approx 2 cds worth of data over the last three days. Which amounts to all the Neo-Geo games emulated by MAME, plus all the other roms from #s to C. Gonna work on D this evening amidst kanji practice.

Hmm, trouble hath hit a favorite of mine. 35gb a week is a hell of a lot of transfer though. Maybe Brian should talk to the hosts of The GIA, the best serious gaming news site ever, is in need of staff positions. Too bad I'm a lazy bastard; otherwise I might be tempted to apply.

No, actually I ended up deciding I don't like the X-box very much at all.
However, it seems that if I want to play most of Sega's games, I need an X-box. Which sucks.
See, after E3 it seemed the only good title that was MS exclusive was DoA3. Now, Sega's giving it all up for X-box, with some token support for Sony and Nintendo (Shin space channel 5 and some old games for one, Super Monkey Ball and Sonic and some more old games for the other).
The second-saddest news on the first day of TGS is FFIV being announced for WonderSwan Color. Meaning any hope of seeing a portable FFIV in English is now gone forever. *sigh*. TGS news really sucks this time around.

3. Favorite RPG? Chrono Trigger. Or Symphony of the Night, if that counts.

6. does it annoy you when the main female character is the stereotypical healer? Nah. I even cried when they killed aeris off in 7.
7. Final Fantasy series - RPG God or hightly overrated? Hmm, no middle ground here. It isnt RPG god, but it also isnt so highly overrated all the tim. Actually I find it funny that usually people say a new game is awesome, then say it sucks, then say it's awesome again (see FF7).
8. Final Fantasy 8 - Refreshing change or unforgivable mistake? It was a refreshing change. While Square stumbled a bit on the storyline, overall it was great. Several times better than their next effort
9. Magic or Fighting? Magic is good and all, but you can't just hold down the accept button and slog through those random encounters with them. Plus magic spells use up magic stuff.
10. Why does the main guy always carry a huge sword? Hmm. To look both cool and stupid.
11. What number of party members forms the ideal party? Four.
12. Guns - cool or pointless? They can be cool (see FF Legend and Vincent), or they can be pointless (see Irvine).
13. What weapon would YOU equip? Megaphone. That's too cool to pass up. How I'd use it, I dunno.
14. Is poison really that bad of a status effect? Sometimes, sometimes not. In FF7 and 8, poison went away after battle. In most others it stayed around. In SOTN it weakened you for a short time, in COTM it took away 1% of your hp every so often until it had got about 30-40% away. Which sucks horribly.
15. Fire or Ice? Fire looks cooler, but shiva looks better ^^;
16. Long summon or short summon? The longer it is the more time I have to go to the bathroom, go shopping, make a sandwich, and read It
17. 2D or 3d? depends on the way the game is presented. up until FFX the ff series has really been all 2d anyway. 3d people over 2d backgrounds. You could just add bunches of animation to them, put it on the gba, and get the same effect. Now though, hardware's getting good enough that whole 3d stuff can happen.
18. Claude or Rena? I like the girls, almost always.
19. Is magus really worth getting? Well, with an attack almost as powerful as luminaire... He, Nadia and Lucca were my preferred party when Crono is dead. Dark Matter + Antipode 3 = major hurt
20. Chrono Cross - decent sequel or crude mockery? It was decent I suppose
21. Favorite RPG main character? Mint!
22. What's your opinion on the undead? I hate the zombie status effect. Other than that... HARM!
23. Could you tell aeris was going to die before the end of disc 1? Um, no.
24. Are female lead characters acceptable? Of course.
25. Do you usually find the "secret" characters in RPGs? Go Yuffie and Vincent!

yipee, Dancemania CDs came today. SPEED BEST 2001, SPEED 6, SPEED 7, and Dance Dance Revolution 5th Mix Original Soundtrack. Too bad they couldn't not put in Oops! ... I Did it Again (Fired Up Mix) and instead put in like say a couple of the Append music. Like Sana Molette ne Ente, or Abyss or DXY!. Bleh. And Oops I did it again is on the Megamix cd too! sigh.
In any case, Dini, Sam, I now have a couple of SMILE.dk mixes you don't. I can send if you want.

I'm insane. I'm ordering some CD Japan. Shipping is high since they're from japan... but get this, prices are retail. No importers fees or anything. I found only one other store that has Dancemania SPEED 7 and SPEED BEST 2001 and Dance Dance Revolution 5th Mix OST in stock, and the price on the first two was $7 above retail, and on the third was a full $10 above retail. Unbelievable, even with shipping getting it from japan is cheaper.

Well, er, finally blogged. That's close to a month without doing so. Bleh. I don't feel like doing anything. Especially not going to school most of the time. There are two classes I like, one I tolerate, and two I hate. I loooove my networking type class. It's fun. I like my Japanese class. Chem is ok. I hate the lab though, and I really friggin hate Java. bleh bleh beleh bleh bleh.

I've also gotten bored with gamemastering star wars. Bleh, I'm always doing that now. nothing else. Sigh.

Just about the only thing I still enjoy doing is playing DDR. The 5th Mix machine in town is quite nice.
